Nearby cities include Greensboro NC (45 minutes away), Martinsville VA (45 minutes away), Winston-Salem NC (60 minutes), and Highpoint NC (60 minutes away). Martinsville is home to the Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR’s shortest track in the Cup series. Highpoint is best known for the High Point Market, which is the largest home furnishings industry trade show in the world, with over 2,000,000 square feet and about 2000 exhibitors with trade shows in the Fall and Spring. Greensboro is best known for its many athletic facilities, and athletic events throughout the year. It also has 7 colleges and universities located in the city. Winston-Salem offers museums and contemporary art, the Black Mountain Chocolate Factory, and other attractions. All of these cities can be fun day trips.

of Danville's "hot parks," meaning it allows park patrons to access free Wi-Fi while using the facilities there.

This park is expected to be a premier destination for the region and will offer an assortment of play activities for children and adults. It will include an urban spray plaza, a fountain that can be choreographed to music an lights, a performance area, all-inclusive playground for the kids, and access to the river in several ways.
